This module aims to introduce the student to the factors affecting the individual and his health and the effects of atmospheric pollution, radiation pollution, pollution of the soil and the aquatic environment on public health. It also aims to increase the student’s culture with regard to health and environment.

This is an introductory module about general health and it provides information on human reproduction, the environment and its impact on human health (atmospheric pollution, radiation pollution, pollution of the aquatic environment, soil pollution and food contamination), epidemiological diseases and pathogens and their transmission methods and prevention. It also provides information about epidemics, outbreaks, pandemics, disease prevalence and mortality, acid rain and its effects on water and soil, plastics and their environmental effects and toxicity.
