Al Andalus Prosthetics Design & Manufacturing Center
Al Andalus Prosthetics Design & Manufacturing Center is one of the academic facilities of Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences. It provides many important design and manufacturing services as well as research ideas and the engineering directions, all of which are under the supervision of specialist doctors and engineers.

Structure
Al Andalus Prosthetics Design & Manufacturing Center operates under the supervision of the Faculty of Medical Engineering and serves the practical part of the biomechanics and artificial limbs modules at the Faculty of Medical Engineering. Faculty members from the Faculty of Medical Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine supervise work at the center in cooperation with specialists and distinguished students.
Services
The center provides many services to patients starting with initial examination of the patient's condition, design and manufacture of the prosthesis or the appropriate prosthetic device and ending with training the patient on how to use it. The center is also provided with a workshop which helps provide support and the necessary maintenance.
The upper and lower artificial limbs are designed using traditional methods as well as computerized ones using 3D drawing software. Currently, computerized manufacturing is being pursued using modern, high-precision printing devices.
Current Achievements
The Center has started its activities by fitting ten lower artificial limbs for nine patients with below-the-knee amputations for free. This has been performed following the university's ambitions to fit 1000 free artificial limbs. The subjects will include both sexes, of various age groups and having different clinical cases of different medical and engineering interests.
