Under the auspices of Prof Dr Mohammed A’amer Al-Mardini, president of Al Andalus University, and in cooperation with Al Andalus University Student Union Branch, a training course at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, titled "designing and digital electronic controlling of artificial limbs" has been run.

The following lectures have been given by Dr Hussam Hanna and Dr Mohammed Ayham Darwish respectively:

-        Design Considerations of Artificial Limbs

-        Manufacturing Methods of Artificial Limbs

Dr Fadi Mutawej, Dr Faten Ajeeb and Dr Laila Khaddour have taught the course attendees how to CAD-design various components of artificial limbs, how to produce these components using 3D printers and how to assemble them.

On a more practical side, the course attendees have been taught how to use Solid Works software, how to control artificial limbs using electromyosignals and how to implement this technique using Arduino IDE.
