Restorative Dentistry (4)

Module Goals
This module aims at:
- Providing students with information about some special and complex restorative therapies and the latest techniques used in filling prepared cavities as well as the new materials used for endodontic therapies.
- Training students to be able to correctly diagnose dental caries of dental patients and treat them.
- Providing students with sufficient clinical experience regarding treatment necessary to protect all teeth using all restorative materials.
Module Description
This module introduces students to the information required to deal with special cases and to the practical methods used in restorative treatment for all teeth (to distinguish between anterior and posterior teeth in terms of the anatomical texture of the occlusal surface). In addition, students learn how deal with instruments and materials used in restoration and how to correctly diagnose different cases and develop the right treatment plans for them.

Teaching Methods
Lectures using PowerPoint presentations
Assessment Methods
- Individual questions and theoretical and practical tests, which constitute 50% of the total mark.
- A final exam, which constitutes 50% of the total mark.
