Computer Applications in Health Care

· Module Description

The module introduces students to types of computers, and how to choose and differentiate between them. It also explores the internal representation of data and programs, the principles of how computers work, where computers are used, the internal structure, peripherals and how to prepare and equip computers. The student also learns about networks, the internet, algorithms and algorithmic thinking. The practical part of the module focuses on applications in general and on Microsoft Office applications in particular.

o 40%: Class activity.

o 60%: End-of-term exam.

Computer networks, information systems, computers and the internet, computers and scientific research, some programs used in nursing and bio-statistics program SPSS.
