Module description

• Module Goals

Determination of the quantities to be measured and the various possible methods for measurement and choosing the best one. Application of the acquired general engineering and physics concepts in the measurement field and realizing the importance of calibration of measuring instruments, and accepted determinants of tolerance in measurement.

40%: Class activity.

60%: End-of-term exam.

Basic concepts of electrical and electronic measurements - analogue measuring instruments - digital measuring instruments - sensors and transducers for electrical measurements - regular calibration of measuring equipment - effects of noise on measuring instruments - measurement errors and tolerance - instrumentation and measurement applications.
