Presenting the basic concepts of acoustics (sound generation, spread, properties, etc.), focusing on the basic laws, theories, and general technologies applied in Electroacoustics.

25%: Class activity.

75%: End-of-term exam.

An introduction to sound wave concepts - propagation of sound waves in various objects and materials - ultrasound waves - infrasound waves, spectral analysis of sound waves, speech recognition - Doppler effect & ultrasonic measurements - soundproofing - sound wave in medical applications - sound waves in medical diagnosis - hearing screening equipment - therapeutic sound waves applications.
