Module Goals
This module aims to:
- Introduce the student to the concept of clinical pharmacology, purpose of studying it, its development and the elements of its application.
- Provide students with a clinical physiological study, pathogenesis, preventive and therapeutic plan for various diseases.
- Give students an overview of applied pharmacy in the hospital.
Assessment Methods
- Individual questions, quizzes, evaluation of external activities, theoretical and practical tests. These constitute 40% of total mark of the
- A final exam constituting 60% of total mark.
Module Syllabus
- The concept of clinical pharmacology, the purpose of its study, its development and elements of its application.
- Clinical treatment strategies and standards for validation of medical prescriptions.
- The concept of drug harm, adverse reactions and drug interactions.
- Medications and age of patients: neonates, children and the elderly.
- Drugs in pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Clinical physiological study, pathogenesis, preventive and therapeutic plan for various diseases.
