Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry 2
.Module Description
- Module Goals
This module aims to enable the student to identify the rest of the chemical groups (not present in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry (1)) of the important natural compounds arranged depending on either the chemical structure (e.g. saponins) or the physiological effect (e.g. tumor phytogenic inhibitors). The module also provides the following aspects of chemical groups: chemical structure, bio-manufacturing, study of the physiochemical properties, extraction, detection, calibration, pharmacological influence and use.
- Assessment Methods
- Practical written tests, oral questions, practical homework, research seminars and practical exam.
- A final theoretical exam.
