Module Description

Module Goals

This module aims to:

  • Introduce students to definitions and general principles in parasitology.
  • Provide students with information about how to identify the parasitic pathogens of humans, their life cycle, ways of infection and the diseases they cause.
  • Provide students with information about how to identify the methods of diagnosis and treatment of parasitic diseases

Assessment Methods

  • Practical written tests, oral questions, practical homework, research seminars and practical exam.
  • A final theoretical exam.

  • Medical fungi
  • Medical insects
  • Use the tools and devices of the parasite laboratory
  • Essentials of stool examination
  • Non-parasitic forms in the microscopic examination of feces.
