Highlights from the Second Day of the Workshop on Handling Minor and Moderate Fires, First Aid, and Safe Evacuation

Under the patronage of Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences and as a result of joint cooperation between the faculties of Human Medicine and Nursing, the workshop on handling minor and moderate fires, first aid, and safe evacuation continued.

Attendees included:

  • Prof. Dr. Kanaan Al-Tamimi, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs. 
  • Dr. Saleh Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine. 
  • Dr. Lubna Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing. 
  • Dr. Sami Azraq, Administrative Deputy of the Faculty of Human Medicine. 
  • Dr. Alaa Tawil, Scientific Deputy of the Faculty of Nursing.

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Abdul Qadir Barakat, a master's holder in Emergency and Critical Care, and covered the following topics:

  1. Fire detection and alarm systems.
  2. Emergency and evacuation plans (plan development and training).
  3. Criteria for activating evacuation plans and their pathways.

Methods for safe evacuation.
