"From Research Idea and Engineering Development to Clinical Practice: A Dialogue on the Challenges and Opportunities of Modern Medicine in Syria" was the theme of the dialogue session held within the First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Human Medicine and the Second International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Medical Engineering.

Eng. Omar Hammami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Society for Medical Engineering
Dr. Alaa Rahhal, Scientific Deputy of the Faculty of Medical Engineering
The panelists discussed the obstacles facing the development of medical devices and clinical practices in the healthcare sector, ways to harness local and global resources to support this sector, and mechanisms for collaboration between academic, research, governmental, and private sectors to assist the healthcare system in delivering health services with high efficiency.
