Al-Andalus University Launches Its International Medicine and Medical Engineering Conferences with Accompanying Scientific Events Including Poster Exhibitions, Graduation Projects, Training Workshops, and a Medical Equipment Exhibition

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by Professor Dr. Adeeb Barhoum, President of Tartous University, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Samer Qabba', President of the Private University of Al-Andalus for Medical Sciences; Mr. Sami Al-Zakh, Deputy Governor of Tartous, representing the Governor; Professor Dr. Iyad Fahsa, President of the University of Al-Ladhiqiyah; Dr. Mohammad Abdul Hay, President of Al-Sham University; Dr. Khaled Al-Tawil, President of Mari University; Dr. Alaa Barhoum, Director of Tartous Health; Dr. Faydi Mahmoud, President of the Arab Doctors Union in Europe; Mr. Khaled Al-Khalaf, Director of Al-Qadmus District; and a number of representatives from public, private, and community organizations.

On August 10, 2026, the Private University of Al-Andalus for Medical Sciences inaugurated:

The First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Human Medicine under the title: Modern Trends in Medical Research and Clinical Innovation: Towards Evidence-Based Medicine

The Second International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Medical Engineering under the title: Biomedical Engineering: Integrated Technical Solutions to Improve Quality of Life

The conferences were attended by a large number of researchers from within Syria and abroad.

On the sidelines of the conference, a number of scientific events were held:

A poster exhibition showcasing scientific publications published under the university's name with D1 classification.

An exhibition of distinguished graduation projects by students of the Faculty of Medical Engineering for the current academic year.

Various training workshops at the Faculty of Medical Engineering.

An exhibition of modern medical equipment by several specialized companies.

At the conclusion of the opening activities, a dialogue session was held at the Scientific Research Authority, attended by the university presidents, deputies, and deans of faculties, during which the role of the university and its impact, future aspirations, and prospects were discussed.
