We are pleased to announce the addition of a prominent scientific figure to the distinguished speakers' list at the Second International Conference of the Faculty of Medical Engineering at the Private University of Al-Andalus for Medical Sciences:
Dr. Mazen Soufi
He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Medical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Damascus (2011), and both Master's and Doctoral degrees from the Department of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Kyushu University, Japan (2014 and 2017, respectively), after receiving the Japanese Government MEXT scholarship and the JSPS DC2 fellowship for young researchers.
Since 2018, he has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST). In 2025, he began working as an Assistant Professor in the Information and Communication Technology Program, Faculty of Engineering, University of Miyazaki, in the medical image analysis laboratories and their applications at both universities. He has published and contributed to more than 25 peer-reviewed studies in medical image analysis applications and artificial intelligence across various medical fields.
He will share with us his expertise and future insights in his unique session entitled:
