Nursing Students of the Private University of Al-Andalus for Medical Sciences Conduct a Scientific Visit to the Oncology Unit at Al-Ladhiqiyah University Hospital

Students of the Private University of Al-Andalus for Medical Sciences – Faculty of Nursing, under the supervision of Dr. Souzan Ibrahim, Ms. Yamama Abbas, and Ms. Basmala Al-Ali, conducted a scientific visit to Al-Ladhiqiyah University Hospital – Oncology Unit.

The visit was part of a training program on healthcare for oncology patients, and included the chemotherapy outpatient clinics, inpatient departments, and the pediatrics department.

The students were introduced to the therapeutic services provided to these patients and observed how chemotherapy drugs are prepared safely and accurately.

The students took medical histories from patients, provided specialized nursing care before, during, and after chemotherapy administration, and offered health education and psychological support with compassion and empathy.

The students delivered an informative lecture on the complications of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, along with appropriate care, in a purposeful and interactive atmosphere.

The students distributed an educational brochure containing important health guidelines to the patients.

A public awareness announcement was presented, providing women with educational guidelines on breast cancer prevention.
