The 35th Annual Conference of the Arab Doctors Union  The 10th Joint International Conference, titled "What's New in Contemporary Medicine,"  at Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Swaid, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Private Education Affairs, and with the presence of Professor Dr. Samer Kabbah, President of Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences; Dr. Faydhi Mahmoud, President of the Arab Doctors Union in Europe; Professor Dr. Abeer Qudsi, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs; Mr. Sami Al-Zakh, Deputy Governor of Tartous, representing the Governor; Professor Dr. Adeeb Barhoum, President of Tartous University; Dr. Osama Al-Babili, Conference President, representing the Union in the Gulf countries; Mr. Rafat Jilo, Assistant Director of Political Affairs in the Syrian Coast; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ismail, Head of the Syrian Pharmacists Syndicate; Mr. Abdul Kafi Kayyal, Director of the Civil Defence Directorate in Latakia Governorate, representing the Ministry of Emergencies and Disasters; Dr. Mohamed Al-Sharif, Head of the Hama Doctors Syndicate, representing the Head of the Syrian Doctors Syndicate; and a number of representatives from public and private entities, the 35th Annual Conference of the Arab Doctors Union / The 10th Joint International Conference, titled "What's New in Contemporary Medicine," was inaugurated today, October 27, 2025, at Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences. The conference is the result of a joint cooperation agreement signed between the University and the Union. It will continue over Monday and Tuesday, with the attendance and participation of a large number of researchers from inside and outside Syria.

On the sidelines of the 35th Annual Conference of the Arab Doctors Union in Europe, a number of exhibitions were held:

  • A poster exhibition for high-ranking scientific publications (D1, Q1) published under the University's name.
  • An exhibition of digital references that have formed a rich digital library at the University.
  • An exhibition of outstanding graduation projects for students of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering for the current academic year.

At the end of the opening ceremonies, a panel discussion was held by the Scientific Research Council office, attended by the Assistant Ministers, the representative of the Governor, the University President, the deputies, faculty deans, and a number of distinguished figures. The role of the University, its impact, and future aspirations and prospects were discussed.

Al Andalus University for Medical Sciences extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation to its honourable guests whom it was honoured to host. Thanks are also extended to the esteemed researchers and lecturers for their valuable scientific contributions, to the Arab Doctors Union in Europe, and to the staff and students of Al Andalus University for their dedicated efforts in making the conference a success.
