Module Goals
The module aims at introducing students to:
- The occlusal disease during mixed dentation stage
- The basics of early orthodontic treatments
- Pressing habits and their effects on teeth and jaws.
- The paediatric gingival and periodontal problems
- The necessary information about general diseases, disability and how to manage paediatric patients with disabilities
- The basics of sedation and how to perform dental treatments under general anaesthesia
- The traumas of primary and permanent teeth and how to manage them.

Module Description
The module introduces students to the occlusal disease during mixed dentation stage and the basics of early orthodontic treatments. It also deals with pressing habits and their effects on teeth and jaws, the paediatric gingival and periodontal problems. In addition, the module provides the necessary information about general diseases, disability and how to manage paediatric patients with disabilities. Finally, the module introduces the basics of sedation, how to perform dental treatments under general anaesthesia, traumas of primary and permanent teeth and how to manage them.
